Ok so I must admit I watch iCarly on Nickelodeon, hey who doesn't when you have small children at home? What? You don't? Well who asked you eh?!
Well there was an episode on there where Carly's brother had made spaghetti tacos and they looked good so I said what the hell and mixed up my own.
Just make your basic spaghetti recipe and stuff it into taco shells, however the health nut that I am I of course try to make it as healthy as possible.
Here's what you'll need (all organic if you can)
Low fat Ground beef
Organic Brown rice spaghetti
Spaghetti sauce
Fresh garlic
Diced onions
Italian seasonings such as oregano, basil, garlic powder, onion powder.
Taco Shells (I find that the organic one's contain disgusting oh so bad for you canola oil so actually I use the Taco Bell brand found at Walmart, surprisingly the healthiest of the worst lol) Side note: Corn and corn based products aren't the best for you either because they contain mycotoxins.
Follow directions on your pasta package and fry up your ground beef and add a bit of olive oil, toss in onions, garlic and seasonings cook over medium and when meat is cooked simmer it, while you warm up your sauce in a separate pan. In the meantime warm your taco shells in the oven on 300 for about 2-3 minutes.
Stuff each shell with the spaghetti then spoon your meat mixture over top of noodles and then spoon your spaghetti sauce over top. Viola! Spaghetti tacos deeeelicious!
For a slightly different spin add cut up banana peppers and sprinkle those on top OR instead of using spaghetti sauce use taco sauce or a salsa, green or red. If you choose to use shredded cheese feel free, I personally don't do dairy (it's disgusting and unhealthy for you) you could choose a brown rice based shredded cheese for a healthier alternative.
Sorry about the pic below it was saved as right side up but when I inserted it into this blog it went sideways WTF? Oh well you can just cock your head to the right and make out what it is! Ha.............Enjoy your spaghetti tacos!
