Sometimes I get into these weird theories in my head (call me bored sometimes) and begin to ponder odd shit, like this one. If you're not "happy" does that mean you're "unhappy"? After much thought I decided that no absolutely not. I mean is the opposite of happy really unhappy? You'd be close minded to think that yes it is. In reality, if you think about it, if you're not "happy" you could be one of many things: complacent, going with the flow, riding it out, not putting thought into anything at all and be on auto pilot etc. Do one of these describe you?
It may describe an array of people especially those that are in relationships with somebody. Just because you're not happy in your relationship does it mean you're unhappy? I'm gonna say no. Again you may just be complacent in the relationship and just do what you do everyday and realize it is what it is and go on with your life. If you peel the onion (so to speak) even further, you will see that we are responsible for our own happiness in the first place. However, so many people rely on their spouses to "make them happy" when really it's not their responsibility at all! If you're unhappy, or complacent or just going with the flow, you are the ONLY one to change that situation nobody else can. I believe when one realizes this they will become a better person and perhaps have a more eventful life or at least have one that's a tad bit more interesting than it was before they started taking responsibility for their own shit. I mean why in the hell would you want to place that much trust in anybody anyways? If you are relying on someone else to make you happy that takes a ton of trust and faith in another human being don't you think? What if they don't come through? What if they fail? The answer is they will always fail and you will always have the same life with that person .........period. It always amazes me how people are willing to put that much faith and trust in human beings and not acknowledge God or if they do, not trust him to help you out. Regardless of your faith, whether you're just a "spiritual" person and rely on your strength from the universe or some potted plant on your window sill, the fact remains the same. We are all responsible for ourselves in this life, whether it be with our happiness or not. If you like living in a world that offers nothing but complacency or going with the flow, than good for you but do realize that it doesn't mean you're "unhappy" your just "being" and really what's wrong with that? Probably not a damn thing.
